2nd Shift Dispatcher
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing timely and appropriate transportation of time- sensitive transportation of general commodities, also products requiring temperature control, such as frozen food, produce, live plants, plastic film, and textiles throughout the contiguous 48 states. The schedule is 7-Days on and 7-Days off 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain professional communications and contact with our drivers and others as necessary to insure accurate delivery of freight.

The 2nd Shift Dispatcher will make phone calls to update, add to, inform and facilitate the shipping process.

Perform basic data entry; and demonstrate ability to learn new computer programs.

Fulfill and prioritize requests by drivers or customers by clarifying information and properly communicate it to all parties. Monitor all drivers positions and temperature of their trailer; make check calls with drivers when needed.

Keep current on training for new equipment; procedures, and techniques.

Assist with driver breakdowns or accident procedures when needed.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to be an great listener to communicate all information effectively in verbal and written form with a strong customer service orientation.

Solid typing and computer skills.

Ability to adapt to change in a fast-growing production environment.

Multi-tasking and organizational skills are a must.

Ability to manage, at times, stressful situations while maintaining good customer service/professional relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required..

2-5 years of customer service experience.

Previous Dispatch and Trucking experience is a definite plus.

At least 2 verifiable employment references.
