Job Title: Claims & Insurance Specialist

Location: On-Site

Reports to: CFO

We are looking for a responsible Claims/Workman’s Compensation and Insurance Specialist (Commercial) (Licensing optional), who is willing to learn. Our next team member is attentive, pays attention to details, honest, sociable and is capable to work with a team.

 

JOB SUMMARY:  The Claims & Insurance Specialist will handle routine documenting of all claims, accident reports, tracking, internal/external customer/vendor claims and other basic claims functions. The Specialist will assist the CFO with all Insurance management and handle Workman’s Compensation Insurance and Claims.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Basic computer knowledge and organization Skills

  • Ability to work independently; show initiative and be a self-starter

  • Positive, collaborative, can-do attitude

  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with defined performance metrics

  • Knowledge of transportation industry/previous experience in trucking is a plus

 

Claims/Insurance specialist job duties include, but are not limited to

  • Claims handling (investigate property damage/subrogation; gather information from sources, such as police reports

  • Prepare reports/emails for claim adjusters/examiners

  • Provide accurate and detailed reporting as required through the account management team and customer

  • Serve as a single point of contact for the claims and insurance department

  • Complete reports of investigation findings

  • Updates activity logs to track status of claims activity, making sure they are updated regularly

  • Manage company driver and owner operator insurance policies

  • Assist attorneys and other specialists when defending the company against other party

  • Manage all workman’s compensation insurance, reports and claims

  • Accept and work on Company Projects as needed

 

OPTIONAL

  • Previous transportation or trucking experience desired

  • Working knowledge of McLeod Software preferred

  • Permits, IRP, IFTA experience is a plus
